We are continuously working towards the promotion of traditional handmade products from rural areas, with the aim of contributing to the economic development of rural artisans. We have observed that in Assam and across the North East, many talented individuals possess immense skills in traditional and cultural handmade crafts. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper market access, many of them have been forced to abandon their creativity.

To address this, we established our online portal www.artexdirect.com, with the vision of encouraging artisans and helping them achieve sustainable livelihoods. This was the first online portal of its kind from the region.

To encourage this humble initiative, Honorable MP Sri Sarbananda Sonowal kindly came forward and inaugurated the portal in 2007 at New Delhi, generously bearing all the costs of the function. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for his encouragement and support.

Later, in 2010, we upgraded the portal by integrating secure payment gateways and brought it under the umbrella of APCOM Educational and Cultural Development Society, which has been actively working in the field of livelihood and rural development since its inception.
